Taking a break and new challenges!

Sometimes in life we have to look around and see the greatness of life that we have been given. For me it is my family and friends.

In May, my family and I took on a new project... to renovate our new house OURSELVES! I knew that I would not have time to keep my schedule of training, racing, AND renovating with my kids at home at the same time. And keep blogging. So something had to sit still for a while. Yes, I kept up with most of you guys blog post and it kept me motivated. So now that things are starting to slow down and renovations are slowly but surely getting done, I am now getting back to my blog and my training.

So to be honest with you guys. I have actually gained around 10lbs since slowing down in May. Yes, its confession time! AHHHHHH! Mostly from making not so good food choices. So now I have decided to go back on my paleo challenge. Except this time I am not going to be as strict as I was during my challenge. So I would love any tips all of you guys have for me.

I also have been swimming more this summer. I am lucky to have a great swim club close to my house now. Joining Oakwood Swim club has been the best summer treat for me and the kids. They offer an adult masters swim class 3 times a week. I have been able to join them a couple times but have also been doing a lot of swimming on my own.
2000 meter in the pool = 1.2 miles = terrible puffy face and goggle eyes!

You may be wondering why I am swimming, yes its for exercise but more so because in my mind I can do a half Ironman next year and finish it! LOL! So therefore swimming it is. I am so excited about going to Ironman Louisville this year with Melanie and Ali. Ali is competing and Melanie and I are going to spectate and cowbell really loud! I also am going to get the feel of the great and exciting triathlon. I have never done one but thought why not!

So I hope that you guys will start back on this journey with me and push me towards bigger and better things!

And one last thing, I left you guys with a Spartan race giveaway...

The winner of the Spartan race entry was
 Jake A
Congrats Jake, you have 24 hours to contact me or you owe me 100 burpees and someone else will have your entry! :)

QUESTION OF THE DAY? Have you ever wanted to do a race that you thought never possible?

  1. I'd love to do a 5K race and since I'm at the beginning of my journey, it seems almost impossible but I won't stop until I finish a 5K. Good luck with the half Iron Man race! You'll do great!
