The Color Run comes to Mobile...

Guess what's coming to Mobile you guys?

Yep that's right. Mobile, are you ready to get completely drenched in "color" and have a great time while helping out a great charity in our area...

The Color Run™, also known as the Happiest 5k on the Planet, is a unique paint race that celebrates healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back to the community.
Less about your 10-minute-mile and more about having the time of your life, The Color Run is a five-kilometer, un-timed race in which thousands of participants are doused from head to toe in different colors at each kilometer. The fun continues at the finish line with a gigantic “Color Festival,” using more colored powder to create happiness and lasting memories, not to mention millions of vivid color combinations. Trust us, this is the best post-5k party on the planet!
With only two rules, the idea is easy to follow:
  1. Wear white at the starting line
  2. Finish plastered in color
Now the single largest event series in the nation, The Color Run is exploding since our debut event in January of 2012 and will grow from over 50 events and 600,000 participants in 2012, to over 100 events and over a million participants in 2013. Click here to join the party.
Be Healthy. Be Happy. Be You.

I had the opportunity to run the Color Run in New Orleans with all of my Swiftwick girls...

We had a blast running through all of the Color stations.

We had a blast getting all colored up at the after party

Weekend Recap...Swiftwick, Drenched 5k, and the Fittest Man on Earth...

Today started out really quiet, YAY!

I ran outside for about an hour. Not fast just a steady peaceful run. Sometimes those runs are well needed. Then I hit the pool fro about an hour. I think I only got around 1200 meters in. I was going slow today and finally enjoying the fact that we have some SUN! Its been raining non stop her on the gulf coast for a month now.

I also love my new Swiftwick COLORFUL socks the awesome people at Swiftwick sent me. Finally COLOR! So I do what every great runner does and mix it up a little...

You guys should really get a pair of Swiftwick socks, they are the best thing ever for your feet. My husband and I don't wear anything else. I promise you will LOVE them.

So did you guys watch the Crossfit games this weekend? My man Rich Froning Jr won for the 3rd year in a row. Yeah this man is a BEAST!

This past weekend we took our youngest son to Monster Jam Monster truck show. We had a blast and its great being able to spend time with my kids doing stuff they love.

Finally a great training day...

Yesterday was one of those days I have been wanting to have for a while.

Still in love with my SXUC Sunglasses from the Sunglasses Shop
I had a great 5 mile run in my neighborhood. Since moving I have not had the time or the energy to get out and explore the huge neighborhood I moved to. I know I should be making time but with this going on nonstop...
its hard to find time. But I have told myself that I need to be number 1 even if its for an hour a day. I even managed to get in another 2000 meter swim yesterday afternoon at the pool.
And this little crazy 6yr old I have decided to jump off the 12 ft diving board for the first time...
You would never know he just learned to swim a month ago. I am excited about the fall coming because my kids are all 3 involved in sports and the competitions start. And another great thing I have coming up is flying to Louisville Kentucky for the Ironman Competition.
My best friend Melanie and I are going to cheer on her husband as he competes in his first Ironman comp. I am soooooo excited! If you going to be there I would love to meet you.
So as the day passes, I hope you have done something today to make your life more healthier!
And don't forget to sign up for my Drenched 5k entry giveaway

Hey guys, I wanted to tell you about a new race series that looks like a blast. They are only in select cities right now but after watching the videos, I am sure it will get bigger and bigger. The closest one to me is in Atlanta, so I am looking forward to a little trip to the ATL for some funfunfun! Check it out...

The Drenched 5K is all about bringing back those memories of summer fun.  Participants will run or walk from dry to drenched through “hot zones” and drenched zones which may include mist tunnels, sprinkler minefields, spectator “sniper” zones, bubbles, fire hoses, and a 75 foot slip n slide (optional) through the finish line.
Runners and walkers are encourage to form teams, don crazy costumes, and bring out their biggest water guns for a little camaraderie and competition against other teams.

For those not interested in building up a sweat but who want to get in on the fun, Drenched has a free spectator zone where they get to drench the runners any way possible!
We are all about families getting active and so kids 5 and under run FREE and kids 12 and under receive discounted entries!

And at the finish?  We stage the best summer party in town!  The world's biggest water balloon fight, music, drinks and dancing.  Drenched will be in 9 cities in summer of 2013:  Denver, DFW, LA, DC, Jacksonville, Columbus, Atlanta, Kansas City, and Philly.

Taking a break and new challenges!

Sometimes in life we have to look around and see the greatness of life that we have been given. For me it is my family and friends.

In May, my family and I took on a new project... to renovate our new house OURSELVES! I knew that I would not have time to keep my schedule of training, racing, AND renovating with my kids at home at the same time. And keep blogging. So something had to sit still for a while. Yes, I kept up with most of you guys blog post and it kept me motivated. So now that things are starting to slow down and renovations are slowly but surely getting done, I am now getting back to my blog and my training.

So to be honest with you guys. I have actually gained around 10lbs since slowing down in May. Yes, its confession time! AHHHHHH! Mostly from making not so good food choices. So now I have decided to go back on my paleo challenge. Except this time I am not going to be as strict as I was during my challenge. So I would love any tips all of you guys have for me.

I also have been swimming more this summer. I am lucky to have a great swim club close to my house now. Joining Oakwood Swim club has been the best summer treat for me and the kids. They offer an adult masters swim class 3 times a week. I have been able to join them a couple times but have also been doing a lot of swimming on my own.
2000 meter in the pool = 1.2 miles = terrible puffy face and goggle eyes!

You may be wondering why I am swimming, yes its for exercise but more so because in my mind I can do a half Ironman next year and finish it! LOL! So therefore swimming it is. I am so excited about going to Ironman Louisville this year with Melanie and Ali. Ali is competing and Melanie and I are going to spectate and cowbell really loud! I also am going to get the feel of the great and exciting triathlon. I have never done one but thought why not!

So I hope that you guys will start back on this journey with me and push me towards bigger and better things!

And one last thing, I left you guys with a Spartan race giveaway...

The winner of the Spartan race entry was
 Jake A
Congrats Jake, you have 24 hours to contact me or you owe me 100 burpees and someone else will have your entry! :)

QUESTION OF THE DAY? Have you ever wanted to do a race that you thought never possible?
