Spartan Race Entry Giveaway!

Have you ever wondered how far you can push yourself? How far the human body will go? Yes? Than I have the race for you!
The Reebok Spartan Race!
What does it mean to be a Spartan?
Spartan Race is on a mission to get you active, healthy, excited about change, and return to our ancient roots where running through woods, getting dirty, and facing adversity was part of everyday life. Our events are all about challenging today’s perception of normal.

Our events challenge the familiar, today’s perception of normal living and getting you out of your comfort zone! At Spartan Race, we do this everyday and it shapes everything we do.

Having experienced many different racing events, we wanted to make adventure racing more accessible to everyone, but do not be fooled by the word ‘accessible’, as our events have a challenge for everyone’s needs.

Spartan Race now introduces a level for everyone beginning with the entry level Spartan Sprint, intermediate level Super Spartan, the advanced Spartan Beast, and the ‘99.9% need not apply’ extreme level Death Race.

Whatever your level, Spartan Race will test your strength, stamina, and sense of humor.

I have ran a few mud run/obstacle races, but the Spartan is the king of all mud races. I have not ran the Spartan but I am planning on running one soon. My best friend Jennifer and some of our running friends ran the sprint a couple months ago. They had a blast...
The group...

Kindrunner launching June 1st, check it out...

Hey guys I am finally settling in and am able to come back full time to you guys. I hope you guys are still out there:) I will explain my media break later, but today I wanted to tell you guys about a great new company called Kindrunner. It is launching on June 1st and I think your going to be EXCITED!

First of all You guys know I am a running shoe fanatic. Yes, I have a shoe for everything CrossFit, Distance, Short Runs, Speed Work, Track Work, Spinning, Lifting, Trail Running...you name it I probably have a shoe for it. So when the guys over at Kindrunner contacted me about their new website, I knew I had to tell you guys about it.
So what is Kindrunner?

Kindrunner is a BRAND NEW web-based running product website where we offer only the best performing and highest rated products to our customers! Our goal is to bring running specialty focus to the web, and offer expert shoe fit and product guidance online. Our focus is on top-notch customer service, expert product reviews, an engaging and informative platform, AND making an effort to change the world for the better by repurposing footwear rather than allowing it to find its way into the trash.

Here are a few facts about Kindrunner...
  1. Kindrunner is the only place on the web where runners can trade in their old running shoes for new shoes.
Runners receive Kindness Cash Rewards for every shoe they send to us. We in turn give those old shoes do our shoe donation partners including Soles 4 Souls. The runners received a credit that they can apply to anything on our site. We have Free 3 Way Shipping that allows a runner to both return product if they change their mind and send their old shoes to us for free.
We have a virtual running shop on the site that includes a staff product review for every product. I can send you a sample video if you like. I think you will find them both informative and funny.
2. How did I come up with the idea?
I own a few running stores in NJ and have been collecting shoes for various charitable causes for years. I just wanted to find a way to help more people. Great running shops do something very special that can not be easily duplicated (case in point, you know this if you have tried a new running store in the last few years) so we wanted to combine the idea of expert advise and helping others in need. We found some willing partners in Soles 4 Souls and the More Foundation Group who agreed to helps us recycle the customers boxes and get the shoes directly to people in need and support projects that help people in places where they need assistance  the most.
3. What happens to the shoes and packaging materials?
All of the old running shoes are shipped directly to our shoe donation partners distribution centers where the boxes and paper are recycled properly and the shoes are sent to to people in need in counties like Haiti and those in Western Africa among others. In some cases shoes are given to people in need in the US.
4. What happens if you do not have a pair of old running shoes?
If you do not have old running shoes we accept other rubber soled shoes that are not designed to be worn as dress shoes. For every pair you purchase from kind runner, you can send back an old pair.
5. How is this different from what Toms.com does?
It is different in a very positive way. We applaud the good work they do, however for ever pair or shoes purchased (and thus  manufactured) they create a mother pair to give to to someone. This helps the person in need, but it also doubles the carbon foot print of the company in one transaction.  At Kindrunner we simply repurpose your old running shoes, giving them to non-runners who need them for basic transportation and protection from injury and disease. We stretch a single carbon foot print to its maximum potential. We believe that thoughtful and educated runners all over the country will relate to our movement and want to be a Kindrunner.

I hope you guys are as excited about the launch of Kindrunner as I am.
Right now they are giving everyone a chance to WIN RUNNING SHOES FOR A YEAR for you and a friend. AHHHHH! Just go sign up HERE, Good Luck!

Omni Hotel and Taylor Swift...Vacation!

Have you guys missed me? I have been on vacation for 2 weeks. I also went on a computer vacation. LOL! I spend so much time on social media that I decided while I was on vacation, I would take a break and not blog, so I could give my family all of the attention possible. Now I am back and cant wait to tell you guys about all the fun I had. Starting with my trip to Atlanta with my daughter and mom. I told you guys about the wonderful Omni Hotel at the CNN Center we were going to be staying at and OMG it was amazing...
The Omni which is connected to the CNN Center in downtown Atlanta was one of the most gorgeous hotels I have ever stayed in. The hotel staff were amazing. We checked in around 1 on Friday and were able to early check in. They brought our luggage up to our room for us. It was amazing to not have to worry about the car or the luggage.
We were in Atlanta for the Taylor Swift Concert and were lucky enough to have the VIP Package through the Omni Hotel. They offer this package for a special rate.
Here are the details for the RockStar Package...

Cadence was excited when we got our swag bags brought to our room and a special little surprise from Elizabeth, the marketing genius behind the RockStar package.

After getting settled in the room and changing clothes into our concert wear, we went downstairs to meet Elizabeth for the VIP pre party.
It was a great time. They had appetizers and cocktails, mocktails for the little ones. Cadence was in heaven. I think she drank 5 of the mocktails. They had silver stars and a blow pop in them. So cute. They also had a Wii set up for anyone who wanted to do some Taylor Swift Karaoke. It was a lot of fun.
Then it was concert time. Another thing great about the Omni is that you can walk to the doors to get into the arena without having to even go outside. It is so convenient. You never have to leave. Then after the concert you just walk back to your room.
The concert was amazing. I knew Taylor Swift would put on a good show. However it was one of the best concerts I have been to. Whether you were 4 or 80, you would have loved it. Best part is the look on my daughters face, she loved it.
Taylor Swift doing her thing...
The Omni also had a photographer on the red carpet taking pictures. It was fun and we got some great pics.
I would say she was partied out? LOL This is how she fell asleep when we got back to the room.
The next day we had a free day to go check out all the great sites in downtown Atlanta. The Atlanta Aquarium and World of Coke are next to the Omni. The Olympic park is right across the street, its amazing.

On Sunday I had a date with a certain mud run...
Ill tell you all about that tomorrow, stay tuned...

Your Turn! Have you ever taken a media break?
