Staying Safe While Being Active...

Have you ever thought about your safety when your out running, cycling, walking, even shopping?
We all think it can't happen to me, but unfortunately it can.
Most of you guys either read or heard about my friend and blogger Elizabeth getting attacked. It happened at 9am in the morning on a Saturday morning in broad daylight in an area of town that is crowded with runners, cyclist and walkers.
I have a personal connection with her story because it happened in my town, in my area, on my running route. I run this route 3-4 times a week.
I am not going to say that I have never thought about my safety while out running, but I have never felt unsafe or scared. After hearing what happen to Elizabeth, I felt like I needed to be a little more aware of my surroundings and be prepared just in case.
After doing some research I decided that mace would be an easy thing to carry and run with. I figured I have gotten jalapeno juice in my eyes before and thought I was going to die, so I figured mace would be good enough. LOL!
I found a handheld at the running store but didn't like the way it felt. So I went to the Internet and found Personal Savers Wrist Saver

When I received the Wrist Saver in the mail, I was so excited to put it to use. No, not spray it, but put it on and function with it. I have to say it didn't feel any different than wearing a Garmin while running. I did wear it on a short run and it did not bother me at all. I also wore it when I had to make a late night run to Walmart. I realized that it could be worn for just about everything you do.
The Wrist Saver holds a ½ oz. pepper spray bottle with the hottest pepper formula on the market today. The Wrist Saver's pepper spray, extracted from cayenne peppers, creates an intense burning sensation on the eyes, skin and throat and can cause an attacker’s senses to temporarily shut down and give you time to get away. Wrist Saver’s easy-twist lock top and wrist holder allow for easy accessibility and the ballistic stream can spray attackers from up to ten feet away in as many as 10-20 short bursts to keep you at a safe distance.
The band is reflective. It also has a place to write your personal information and an LED light that is easily accessed on the side. (I have used the light to get the key into my house at night)
There should be no reason why everyone should not wear a Wrist Saver. It can be the best money you have ever spent and can potentially save your life.

Personal Savers also has a Baby Saver that fits on the side of your stroller.

A Cycle Saver for easy access while out cycling.
And a handheld Personal Saver
And for you guys, they have it in black too

I hope that you take a second and check out Personal Savers online. At $12.95 for the Personal, Wrist, and Baby Saver and $10.95 for the Cycle Saver, you have no reason to not order a Personal saver and feel a little safer.
