Stepping out of my comfort zone becoming a radio show cohost, YIKES!

I mentioned a little last week about my new adventure as co-host on The Fat to Fit Radio Show with Cindy Lane Ross and Larisa Dixon. I have to admit it is a little weird to hear yourself on the radio. I had been a special guest for 3 weeks before actually taking on the role of sidekick cohost, LOL! And to be honest with you I didn't listen to any of the shows when they aired. Not because I didn't want to but because I was scared of how I sounded on air. So actually being asked to cohost indefinitely was a total shock to me. I was excited when the feedback from Cindy and the station was positive. I guess this is one of those learning lessons.

WE are own worst critics!

With that being said, I hope you will support our show and listen as Cindy and I bring you the best of the best in fitness, healthy foods, active travel, and tons of fun. We hope that you enjoy the chow and will make sure you tell your family and friends about it. We want to make this your show. If you have any ideas, tips, or just want to say hi, you can email us at info@fattofitradiowithcindyandlarisa.

So without further ado, meet my cohost Cindy Lane Ross...

Cindy and I have known each other for over 10 years. We met training in the gym. She is an amazing motivator. She owns Bodies by Cindy personal training here in Mobile, and is about to open a huge training facility in August. I am so excited to show you guys her new gym and concept so stay tuned for that. Cindy also has an amazing health and weightloss story. Read more about Cindy HERE on her blog Fat to Fit with Cindy Lane Ross.

We talk a lot about finding yourself and being happy with what you see in the mirror. Both Cindy and I have struggled with weightloss ups and down. We know the good, the bad, and the ugly side of dieting. I feel we are both in a happy healthy stage in our lives and we want all of you to feel that way.

  2. Pack healthy snacks in portion sized bags/containers within reach so you don't have to stop along the way. Pack picnic lunches and eat at rest stops - they often have nice shaded tables and clean bathrooms. Bring healthy, portioned snacks and an empty water bottle in your carry on. Some airport kiosks will sell ice/tap water for cheap and sometimes no charge.

  3. I have tons of tips from my traveling days. I traveled over 40 weeks one year, so I started making up my own tricks! 1-when in airport avoid using tram and moving sidewalk, walk with a purpose, pumping arms, it will get your blood flowing especially I'd in ATL going from concourse A to D, sometimes if I had a long layover I would just keep walking and get some cardio in! 2. Bring your shaker and protein powder, if hungry at airport, I know in ATL they have purified water filters to fill up water bottles, so then you don't have to buy anything and waste money on expensive water bottles or airport food. 3. Working out is hard at a hotel when they don't have a gym or the equipment is falling apart, I use my surroundings in this case, wall push-ups, lunges in the hallway, or take it outside and do push-ups on curb, sprints, burpees

    1. I could go on and on all the things I've made up over my time traveling bc I get bored easily, these were just the top 3, I usually stuck to bc they are easy to do no matter where you are.

  4. What a fun new endeavor! Good luck to you. I am a big fan of taking my own food along when I travel and will pack a cooler if necessary. I like to freeze our water bottles to use as ice and then drink the water as the ice melts. We always stay in hotels/motels where I can have a fridge and a mike for food prep and storage. I like to make our lunches for day excursions. And we walk EVERYWHERE we can. This next trip I am taking my laptop so we can continue with our morning workouts in the hotel room before we head out.
